Ghost Fishing UK - Big Give Christmas Challenge 2022Health to the Ocean campaign
Ghost Fishing UK cleans up lost fishing gear with volunteer scuba divers, preventing lost fishing gear known as 'ghost gear' from entering our seas and saving our marine wildlife. Our team removes ghost gear from the ocean and it is then recycled or given back to the fishermen.
Donations open 12:00 PM, 30 November 2021 to 12:00 PM, 7 December 2021
Thank you for visiting our Donations Page!
We are excited to tell you that we’re taking part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge again this year with our Health to the Ocean Campaign!
Our target to reach this year is £17,498, so please tell all your friends and family to donate online when the campaign goes live during 30 November 2021 to 7 December 2021; and help us to continue to Survey and remove nets, fishing gear and other marine debris that pose a threat to marine life in UK waters!
How does the Christmas Challenge Work?
The Christmas Challenge is a match funding campaign where donations to participating charities are doubled. The match funds come from two sources – charities secure some of these (Pledges) over the summer. These funds are then boosted by funds from a Big Give Champion who contributes to the match fund. This collective pot is used to double donations from online supporters when the campaign is live.
The campaign is open from 12:00 PM, 30 November 2021 to 12:00 PM, 7 December 2021, and amazingly as part of the online campaign all donations we receive will be doubled during the week! Therefore, to help us raise as much money as possible, we ask you to kindly hold off donating until the campaign opens in November!
